Coming Soon to The London Lens Company

About Dry Eye Care

The London Lens Company will soon be introducing a dedicated Dry Eye Care Clinic, designed to provide patients with expert diagnosis and effective treatment for dry eye syndrome. Dry eye is a common yet often overlooked condition that can significantly affect quality of life.

Symptoms such as irritation, burning, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, and watery eyes can make everyday tasks like reading, driving, working on screens, or wearing contact lenses uncomfortable.

Our upcoming service will provide a structured and clinically led approach to diagnosing and managing dry eye, helping patients find long term relief and improved visual comfort.

Advanced Diagnostic Technology

Our clinic will use advanced diagnostic technology, including the Idra ocular surface analyser, to assess the health of the tear film and ocular surface in detail. This technology allows us to identify the underlying cause of dry eye, whether evaporative, aqueous deficient, or mixed, so that treatment can be accurately tailored to each patient. Comprehensive diagnostic assessments will include:

  • Meibography to assess meibomian gland health
  • Non-invasive tear break-up time (NIBUT) measurement
  • Tear meniscus height analysis
  • Lipid layer assessment
  • Ocular surface imaging

Following assessment

Patients will receive a personalised dry eye management plan designed to address the root cause of their symptoms rather than simply masking discomfort.

Our dry eye clinic will also provide a range of in-practice treatment options and ongoing care, including:

  • Thermal pulsation therapy (Activa) for meibomian gland dysfunction
  • TearStim therapy to support tear film stability and ocular surface health
  • Ongoing monitoring and review using objective imaging to track treatment progress
  • Lifestyle and environmental advice to help manage symptoms
  • Nutritional guidance and supplement recommendations where appropriate
  • Preservative-free ocular lubricants and lid hygiene support
  • Management of contact lens related dry eye
  • Co-management and referral pathways for complex or severe cases

Our aim is to provide a technology led dry eye clinic within the practice, offering patients accurate diagnosis, targeted treatment, and ongoing support.
