Regular eye examinations are one of the most effective ways to maintain healthy vision. Many eye conditions develop gradually and may not cause noticeable symptoms in the early stages. Routine eye tests allow optometrists to identify potential concerns before they begin to affect your sight.
During a comprehensive eye examination, it is possible to detect or monitor a wide range of conditions, including:
Regular eye exams can also reveal indicators of wider health conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Early detection allows for timely treatment, monitoring, or referral when necessary, helping to protect your long term eye health.
An advanced eye exam at The London Lens Company typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, allowing our optometrists to perform a detailed and unhurried assessment of your vision and eye health. Your appointment will include a discussion about your vision, lifestyle, and any symptoms you may be experiencing. This helps us tailor the examination to your individual needs.
The examination includes a series of clinical assessments to evaluate visual clarity, eye coordination, focusing ability, and the overall health of your eyes. As part of the appointment, we also perform retinal imaging, which captures a high resolution photograph of the back of the eye. This image allows our optometrists to examine important structures such as the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels in great detail. Retinal imaging helps detect early signs of eye disease and allows us to monitor any changes over time.
To ensure accurate results and a comfortable patient experience, The London Lens Company uses advanced diagnostic technology during eye examinations.
Our refraction assessments are performed using the Nidek RT 6100 Phoropter, the latest version of this highly precise digital system. The phoropter allows our optometrists to measure your prescription accurately while ensuring a smooth and efficient testing process.
We also use the Keeler Z Series 3020Z Slit Lamp, an advanced clinical microscope that enables detailed examination of the front structures of the eye. This technology allows our optometrists to closely assess the cornea, eyelids, lens, and surrounding tissues to identify signs of eye disease or inflammation.
Together with retinal imaging and a comprehensive clinical assessment, this technology helps ensure that your eye examination is both thorough and precise. Protect your vision with a comprehensive advanced eye exam.
